Dining Out Without Compromising Your Fitness and Nutrition Goals

When you’ve got fitness or weight loss goals set in your sights, every decision you make throughout the day matters. · How many steps you take, · How much water you choose to drink · How many veggies you put on each plate, The list goes on and all help you move closer to - or further away from - your ultimate goals. One such decision that comes into play is dining out. No matter if you’re headed out to happy hour with coworkers, to a dinner party with friends, or to a big fam

    "What is THE Best Diet?"

I don’t think there’s a day that goes by that I don’t see someone ask online “ What is the best diet” This is usually followed by a flurry of responses from people who have no idea what they are talking about, declaring that whatever fad diet they happen to be following at the moment is THE best diet there is and all the others are well Crap. They'll then spew a bunch of nonsense and "science" to support the diet they happen to be following. Funny thing is on more than one o

Are you one who uses a calorie tracker?

Are you one who uses a calorie tracker?

Are you one who uses a calorie tracker? If so great but if you aren't weighing and measuring your food then odds are you are under estimating how much you eat. Most studies put the number around 30% as in people eat 30% more than they actually input into their food tracker. For example lets take french fries. The serving size on the package says 3oz. Which comes to 130 calories. Most people would dutifully put 1 serving down in their tracker and the 130 calories. Well as you

    Perfection is Overrated

"Perfection is Overrated" and since none of us.... let me repeat that NONE OF US is perfect or can be seeking perfect can only lead to one thing... failure And this is why so many people don't succeed when it comes to trying to lose weight. We see it all the time. Someone decides this is it..i'm ready to lose this weight and goes all in. They jump on one of those fad diets or they buy a bunch of "miracle weight loss" products from their office co-worker. Perhaps they decide t

Focus on this for a better body

One of the things we focus on with the people we work with is changing their mindset. And one of the biggest things we try to get people to change is their focus on the scale. Put another way we teach people to focus not on WEIGHT loss but on FAT loss. Frankly if we're being honest we could do a lot better on that though it's an uphill battle. Spend 5 minutes on social media or the internet and you'll quickly realize that our society is obsessed with defining how healthy or

My Top 5 Nutrition Myths You Need to Let Go Of

Let’s be honest for a second. When it comes to eating healthier and/or trying to lose weight it’s getting harder and harder to know what to do. The mainstream media tends to sensationalize the latest and greatest “fad” diet. Add to it the ton of misinformation posted in social media sites by would be “nutrition experts” pitching this product or that and it isn’t any wonder there is so much confusion out there. Now I could likely have made this a top 50 list but I thought I’d

    Protein Shakes Yay or Nay?

One of the most common questions we get is about protein shakes or smoothies. Mostly asking something along the lines of: "Should I be drinking them?" Unless you've been living under a rock the past couple of years you've no doubt read about protein shakes/smoothies and their benefits. If not, here are some benefits and reasons to jump on the protein shake bandwagon! 1. Protein shakes will help you recover faster after a workout. The ideal time to consume one is within 30-

    They're Holding You Back...

Recently I was talking with one of my clients who had fallen off the wagon in the past few weeks. She had worked really hard to get about 40lbs off and was in the best shape of her life. But over the holidays things began to slip and as we spoke the real truth started to come out. She was dealing with what I call a “Diet Destroyer”. What is that you ask? It might be a friend, co-worker, family member or even your spouse who either deliberately or subconsciously starts to sab
